Last Prayer Letter 2017

2017 has been one of the best years ministering in Mexico. I thank God for allowing me to serve alongside my lovely little wife.
In January 2017, my wife and I were called to serve at La Huerta School of Missions and Pastoral Training in La Paz, Mexico. Moving down here was one of the best decisions we have made. The first 8 months were full of challenges and preparation. The 3 months after that were even more difficult, since the school was up and running; students were finally on campus. We now are ready to see them go on their first missionary practice. Some will be serving here in La Paz, others in Guadalajara, Vizcaíno, Ensenada, and one student will even go to Canada!
It has been amazing to see how the Lord has been teaching these students. As I’ve been watching them grow, the Lord has placed a desire in my heart to know His Word in a deeper way.
The past few years I have been learning many things. I have been learning the ins-and-outs of ministry. I have been learning the culture and the language. I was able to meet my beautiful wife and now I have been feeling a call to go to Bible College and have a deeper understanding of God’s Word. I want to be able to serve God as best as I can, and I want to be spiritually prepared for whatever plans the Lord may have for me.
In January 2018 our school will be starting a new program for those who want to be missionaries or pastors, but have not yet attended a bible college. My wife and I are praying to see if I should begin this course in January.
If we decide to start bible college, I will still have to keep up with my duties as a leader in the church as well as any other responsibilities I have here on staff at the school. So, this will be a very busy time for me and my wife.
We ask that you may join us in prayer as the Lord shows us what the next step will be. We have counted the cost of what this decision will bring to our family, but it cannot compare to the investment in the kingdom of God; to be able to share His word effectively to others in a foreign language and continue to work on my personal relationship with Him.

Hello all! I figured since I've been a missionary for over two years it was about time to write an update on what the Lord has been doing in Mexico, and in my life personally! Because this is my first newsletter, I want to give a quick background to what I have been up to for the past 2 years here in Mexico. ROSARITO On January 10th, 2014, God called me to Mexico. For six months I was in Rosarito, Mexico, serving at a church as an intern. Alongside six other guys, my responsibility was to clean the church, set up for events and bible studies, and be available to serve whenever possible. This was a really good time of humbling for me. JANUARY 2019

2019 has finally arrived and this month we celebrate 5 years of serving here in Mexico! We are so joyful for all that God has done these wonderful years. I do apologize for not writing updates for the past few months, but I would like to catch you up on some things that happened last year Blake: As many of you know last year I was praying about starting school in the Pastorship Training program here in La Paz. Well, in September of 2018 I began school. It has been such an amazing blessing to be able study the word of God, and I have learned so much.  Part of this program is that we get to do a Biblical Analysis. We go through every book of the bible and write a paragraph analysis for every major character, place, and event in the book. This is extremely time consuming and difficult, but I have personally seen what a huge blessing it is to dig through and study deeply in the scriptures. GRADUATING FROM BIBLE COLLEGE

• SUMMER UPDATE • It has been a while since I last wrote a newsletter. So much has been going on and I would like to share that with you. After a year and a half  I finally graduate from La Huerta - Missions & Pastoral Ministry school. I could not be more thankful for everything that the Lord has taught  me and has allowed me to be part of. During this time I began to appreciate more the work of ministry. When entering this program my only desire was to learn more about His word and be able to share that with others and do ministry in a more effective way. I am grateful for all the teachers from here and those who traveled from far away to invest time to share their experiences and wisdom with us.
